Poppies On Black

Photography has increased our memory by retaining an image for us. Simultaneously, the knowledge that we can 'take a picture' has decreased our attention to the actual moment, thereby limiting the memory that is created by our minds. A paradox I ponder as in 2007 I sketch poppies growing in Saint John in 2004.
